Pinocchio’s story begins with a kindly woodworker, Geppetto, who crafted the little wooden boy and wished upon a falling star that the puppet could come to life. To his joy, his wish is granted, and Pinocchio must prove himself brave, truthful and unselfish to become a real boy. New and naive to the world, Pinocchio is led astray by seemingly trustworthy characters. When he fails to return home, Geppetto searches for him and ends up in the belly of a whale. Upon learning this awful news, Pinocchio fearlessly makes his way to the bottom of the ocean to save his father.
In this delightful design, Pinocchio floats at the bottom of the sea floor among bright and colorful coral. His eyes are wide with delight at the sight of a curious seahorse, while clams peek out from their shells nearby. Bubbles rise all around him, while a dreamy blue gradient depicts the depth of the water. Embroidery is featured throughout the coral and layers the feather of Pinoke’s hat, while his memorable wooden nose is brought forward with applique.
