On a cold Halloween night in 1963, six-year-old Michael Myers brutally murdered his 17-year-old sister, Judith. He was sentenced and locked away for 15 years. But on October 30, 1978, while being transferred for a court date, a 21-year-old Michael steals a car and escapes Smith's Grove. He returns to his quiet hometown of Haddonfield, Illinois, where he looks for his next victims.
The front pocket features an eerie black-and-white scene of a moonlit night. An applique, in full color, provides a sharp contrast: A jack-o’-lantern with pointed edges and a hand that grips a knife, which edges down over the bottom of the backpack. Above, Michael Myers stands at the top of a staircase. Some details from this scene, and from the original artwork on the side panels, glow in the dark! The knife makes an encore as an applique on the shoulder strap, and an enamel zipper charm of a jack-o’-lantern tops off the look.
